ELECTROCLASH :

Back in the 00s, downtown NYC promoter and DJ Larry Tee created a new genre of music around bands like Scissor Sisters, Fischerspooner and Peaches, and coined the term Electroclash. He was creating the first Electroclash Music Festival to showcase the new sound of these bands and needed a visual identity to go with it. The designs are based on a European and Bauhaus design aesthetic of bold colors and simple, telegraphic shapes. Like the music, the logo is "HOT" like a stove burner. Electrical outlets and sexual imagery are used throughout. This imagery was advertised through outdoor media all over the City to get people excited. Electroclash is now an internationally known musical style and movement.
